New Bonus Track at DevReach 2009

Yes, that’s true; a whole new bonus track with four sessions lead by four different speakers will be added to this year’s great content thus making it even greater. The new virtual Green Track will take place on Sunday October 11 and will cover:

Branching and Release Management in TFS by Etienne Tremblay, level 200
Blend 3.0 – SketchFlow and Sample Data, or how to bring the paper notes to an interactive application by Emil Stoychev, level 300
Using WinDBG with managed code by Vladimir Milev, level 300
INETA: Voice of the .NET Community! by Tomislav Bronzin, level 100

Two Keynote Sessions at DevReach 09

We are excited to announce that there will be a second keynote session at DevReach 09.

Luka Debeljak, the Technical Lead in the regional HQ DPE team in Microsoft will give a presentation on “ Connecting to the Clouds: The Azure Services Platform”.
Luka is responsible for many of the CEE countries where he supports strategic opportunities by technical guidance and delivery of presentations about newest technological and development concepts on Microsoft platform. Luka joined Microsoft in 2003 as a Developer Evangelist and later managed the DPE team in Slovenia. Prior to joining Microsoft, he was a development manager for a local ISV company and an outside coworker of Microsoft. During that time he also obtained a M.Sc. degree in Computer Science.

Right after Chris Sells Luka will present in details the evolutionary path in our industry and in addition he will drill into the latest capabilities of the Microsoft Azure Cloud application platform from a development perspective. As with any technical keynote you can expect demos, in this case featuring Windows Azure and Azure services, to be shown as well.

It is our pleasure to announce that Chris Sells, a Program Manager for the Business Platform Division in Microsoft will do the keynote for this year's edition of DevReach.

He's written several books, including Programming WPF, Windows Forms 2.0 Programming and ATL Internals.In his free time, Chris hosts various conferences and makes a pest of himself on Microsoft internal product team discussion lists.

Join us on October 12 at Arena Cinema Mladost for Modeling: Here and Now, a session that will describe the key platform components and developer scenarios of a model-driven platform with a live demonstration of how to build such a platform using Oslo.

Dear Attendees,

We are happy to inform you that session PPTs and demos are now available for download. Please follow the download links after each session on the Sessions page (http://devreach.com/Event/Sessions.aspx). As you will notice a couple of speakers are yet to submit their slides but their slides will be posted as soon as we receive them.

VIP attendees, please be advised that DVDs will be shipped by November 20th the latest. DVDs will be mailed out to the shipping addresses presented upon registration. The DVDs will contain all available presentation slides as well.

All of you who have opted for a free Telerik developer license, please note that your Telerik licenses will be activated by November 10th and each of you will receive a notification letter with your log-in credentials and instructions on how to download the complimentary software. Telerik licenses are delivered electronically and can be downloaded via your personal client account.

Branimir Giurov is a C# MVP and leader of the Sofia .NET User Group (www.sofiadev.org). He’s been working with .NET since 2001 and he’s also certified on all versions of the .NET Framework, MS SQL Server 2000 and 2005, MS BizTalk 2004/2006.

Ed Musters is an independent Consultant and President of the Toronto .NET User Group (http://www.TorontoUG.net) - one of the largest in North America boasting over 4000 members and regular meeting attendance of 125 developers. Ed holds certifications for MCT, MCPD, MCSD, and MCDBA. He also holds all MCTS certifications in SharePoint including WSS 3.0 Administration, WSS 3.0 Development, MOSS 2007 Administration, and MOSS 2007 Development.

Jan Blessenohl is co-founder and CTO of Vanatec (www.vanatec.com), vendor of the Object/Relational Mapper OpenAccess. Object persistence has been Jan’s domain for 9 years now. Before founding Vanatec, Jan used to be a project manager and developer of the Object Database FastObjects (Poet/Versant). He was responsible for choosing the right Java mapping technology which was used as the basis of OpenAccess for .NET.

Much to our regret, Richard Campbell has to attend to some urgent personal matters and will not be able to come to DevReach 2008. In the conference schedule (http://www.devreach.com/Event/Schedule.aspx) Richard's sessions have been replaced by the following new presentations:

1. SQL 2008 and PowerShell by Vladi Tchalkov, Level 300
2. Managing WCF/WF services with Windows Server "Dublin" by Georgi Kremenliev,
Level 200

Vladi Tchalkov is MVP and Microsoft Regional Director for Bulgaria since 2004. He has strong experience in Visual Studio .NET/2003/2005/2008, Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008, Microsoft IIS, Microsoft Sharepoint ? Microsoft BizTalk Server. Vladi Tchalkov will be also presenting "Performance optimizations of TSQL code in SQL Server 2005/2008" at DevReach 2008.

Georgi Kremenliev is our new addition to the super-stellar line-up of speakers. He is a Program Manager in (at) Microsoft’s Connected Systems Division working out of Redmond, WA. For the past one and a half years his immediate responsibilities included overseeing end-to-end aspects of the new Windows Server “Dublin”. Prior to his role on the “Dublin” team Georgi spent more than 4 years on the team that developed WCF and WF in .Net 3.0 and .Net 3.5 releases.
